1. 2 hour flight
2. City we had never seen
3. Fun must be had
These were the rules for the girl’s trip, that is, Girls that met in Shanghai and are now back in the US.
With one gal coming from Austin, the other from Chicago and myself NYC, this was no easy task. Have you seen that part of the map?? It came down to Memphis or Nashville and the home of the Grand ole Opry won out. Upon landing at the airport, I was taken right away by the kindness of the people. I did have a small run in with a rude woman in the airport bathroom but it turns out she’s a NY’er as I recognized her from my plane. It was a short trip but with the music, amazing food (Husk, Rolf and Daughters, Tavern), fun night life and historical landmarks, a good time was had by all. Just don’t compare Austin to Nashville or Natalie will have your head!
We toured the beautiful and historic town of Franklin, saw our first slave’s quarters and cemetery at the Carnton Plantation House, purposely chose not to honky tonk, danced to a band covering Journey, toured the Gaylord Grand Ole Opry all while meeting some of the nicest people around.
